How adapting your plans to an elopement wedding can be more than a downsized plan B
Sure, I get it, the original wedding plans must have been very lovely and it would be very disappointing to have had to move your date to a years time, but have you considered an intimate ceremony a.k.a. elopement wedding much sooner?
5 tips for elopement wedding
I have had some couples asking me to come on board with ideas and here have been my 5 top suggestions to make a pre-wedding elopement an epic part of the tale when you relive your wedding story in years to come.
1. Make a fun (full) day of it
Plan a surprise morning for your partner, and your partner for you. Think about what each other loves, and perhaps who they would like to spend time with and plan it out for each other.
2. Have an impressive ceremony set up
A good quality arbor, florals or fairy light setup could create a magical space for your intimate ceremony. This can be used beautifully in your wedding photos as well. Enjoy getting creative and think outside the box, this will be a main area that shows the style you are going for in this session.
3. Ceremony
Whilst a ceremony could be finished and signed in 7 minutes, why not curate special elements to bring more poignance to the moment. Can loved ones write a note that can be read out? Personalised vows? Can you bring your pets that were originally not coming? When including the songs you love feel free to ask the officiant if you can have the space to enjoy it in full together, rather than have it cut off mid-song.
4. What did you miss out on in the original plans because it didn’t fit in with the schedule, the styling, or the location?
You love Gold-sequined dresses but it didn’t fit the original wedding theme? A night time ceremony filled with 1000 fairy lights? Can you include a special location that was not originally enroute? Travel to elope in your favourite weekend holiday destination?
5. Consider a mid-week wedding
With not as many guests you need to accommodate for, why not consider a mid-week wedding? Less people in general out and about. Your vendors will have more availability to create with you.
Feel free to reach out to discuss more ideas. With over 20 years experience in weddings, I have seen so many sweet ceremony plans and I would love share them with you!
